Movie buffs can get their hands on Leonardo DiCaprio’s flashy sportscar from the 2013 hit movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, when it goes under the hammer next month. Perfectly preserved in its ‘as-filmed’ condition and accompanied by original cast wardrobe and cast-signed props, the Hero Car being offered up by Bonhams Cars is said to be “a time capsule of the legendary movie’s extravagance and debauchery”. The 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary ride is part of the auction house’s lineup for the ‘On the Grid: The Abu Dhabi Auction’, and will be shown off for the first time since its big screen debut. The sleek white vehicle is expected to fetch between $1.5million and $2 million, and its condition is listed “as-filmed”, meaning damage it sustained during the movie shoot has been preserved for 10 years. The one-off Lamborghini – featured in a memorable scene when DiCaprio’s character Jordan Belfort overdoes the quaaludes – has scissor doors and is one of 658 rides produced in the 25th-anniversary range. The ultimate buyer will also get one of four of the film’s most iconic costumes, and a director’s chair and clapboard signed by director Martin Scorsese and DiCaprio, and co-star Margot Robbie.
